Not sure what you mean by this. Are you suggesting that all DTs (for example) weighing roughly the same is MORE realistic? A bunch of clones weight-wise?
Right now it would bother me more to have it off. I feel it is usable in its current state. But i wish it were more real. In term of how weights actually change.
Most guys have to eat and train to maintain certian weight. Some have eating problems and cant lose weight. IRL it is touchy but without training and diet most people trend up over time.
Really each guy should have a set frame and not much can be done without changing body composition first. Which should dictate fluctuation rates.
Guys with room to fill out should have it easy and stockier guys should be harder. Weight training should gain weight (muscle) and conditioning training will make you lose weight (fat). And at about 225lbs is where world class spinters start to lose serious speed and where 400 pounders dont play at all with 8 second 40 yard dashes. I believe this does not happen. The rate is flat or on a bell curve. So open to manipulation.
Im pretty sure here fomulas that involve strength and speed change as weights change. It may be minimal but a small change is occurring here that effects gameplay.
IRL you can change weight easily but not change strength or speed. The same guy who gains 10 lbs of muscle will be faster than the same guy who gained 10 lound of fat. Here its a matter of loosing and gaining fat. The added weight makes you stonger and slower. It just does not work like that. Unless your not training.
So i am ok with the current model because it is hard to take advantage of but playing here and changing positions alot i see having a player change his weight inline with reality is low on fixes because it is so far off what is real. But i am so happy i can at least change their weights because that fact is so real.
Like i said currently the gaming is hard to do. A 100 strength DT that weighs 350 pounds should be near impossible to find. Most guys putting up bench records at the combine for multipule reps at 225lbs are like 300 pounds themselves. So we will see cause i run a 3-4 with 275lbs ends and 300lb DT. Would my D be better if they were each 25 lbs heavier. IDK? For me i have been questioning from the begining. As a result i play 205lb LBs some times.
200lb corners coming down to make plays after 300lb o line men are barreling at them to still stop the back. IDK either. Or just why DTs tackle numbers a so low in the run game. IDK either but it all reeks of size playing little effect. So im still on the fence whether size matter as much as it should. Heck maybe the game needs the differentiation through controllable weight measures.
