Because of this games absolute reliance on play knowledge for, say, everything. Either (1) make the game less reliant on it for, say, everything OR (2) allow players to gain it a whole **** of a lot faster than they do. Right now, it's miserable to install a new playbook because for at least the first eight games of a season your team is going to **** *****. By the time preseason is over, your average NFL team knows the f'ings they are going to run for the year.
Right now, play knowledge is about the only defense teams have against the janky under pressure code because it is controls things like hot route and reads and OL blocking assignments and how long the QB stares down receivers until being sacked because he won't throw the stupid ball, and the list goes on. Something has to give about this.
It would be nice to know just how much of an effect play knowledge has on any given play. I was just looking through INTs and incomplete passes from my most recent game in 19 and would be curious to know how play knowledge would have mattered.
Whatever the case, it's beginning to seem like the game has become nothing but a 50/50 dice roll regardless of talent, knowledge or human input (gameplan, playcalling, etc.).

I agree this applies to most aspects of the game, but not all.
I think punt coverage relies heavily on human imput, for example.
It would be nice if skill were more of a factor than randomness.

The first way to do this would be get rid of the 10% boost to play effectiveness given to crowd noise.
