Is this just a physical action we can not see watching the game, like he is actually closer to my receiver and can knock the ball down, or is this a potential bug or error?


The DB will have the ability to jump/stretch to make that play, 3 feet is probably the end of his ability to extend, which isn't really illustrated in the game center - the placement of the players on the game center are also simplified and do have a small range of error as opposed to what actually happened in the game engine.
