team is in -115,237,499 salary cap trouble. do i just cut everyone i can to reduce the cap and hope that helps? do i just trade all draft picks team has? do i just draft normally and just allow CPU to cut players and sign players to get out of salary cap trouble?? |

This is insane.
Obviously, the picks need traded 2 years out. This is a complete mess and why there needs to be roadblocks on being so far beyond a cap .. Hopefully, the situation remedies out. Feel bad for the league as a whole. Hopefully, the other owners will work with punisher and get as close to comparable value as they can for those picks. FWIW: It looks like it was year 3 after an expansion draft. I think what may be at play here is the owner saw a full roster with a ton of cap room. Not understanding 90% of that roster were now free agents. >> Yes, I understand there is a warning about pending free agents << 2 suggestions moving forward: 1. As mentioned earlier, there has to be some sort of a block going over a cap. 100%+ over a cap is simply insane. 2. Create a wider window of 1st contracts: Rds 1-4: 5 yr deals 5-8: 4 yr deals 9-12: 3 yr deals 13-16: 2 yr deals 17-on: 1 yr deals I appreciate everything about this game (and the time it takes to develop). I know longer allocation draft contracts have been discussed previously. This just serves as another reason the issue needs revisited.

Wait, you can trade out draft picks for the Fall Out Boy's "Centuries" and never fix the cap. JDB will have to figure out a way to.....re-do FAs 3 and #4. I looked quickly but a lot of the damage appears to have been there. Also, FAs 1-2 most GMs would have already gotten their 'Big Ticket' items, therefore, that option is viable.

I'm going to say this was on the level and I bet the GM thought that he could just toss out a catch all amount of bids and whatever players would accept until the cap was used up.
...that it wouldn't go over like it did. |

is now in a $-65,914,449 hole if i cut last 5 players comes out to 16,684,832 which then takes that 65 number down to 49,229,617 hole looks like team might be beyond repair |

The engine does limit dead cap to 75% of the total cap when it enforces the cap, so in theory someone in a similar situation would just have to let the AI do its thing and play with a roster of scrubs for a year or two. Because of the circumstances around this one, though, I have cleared the dead cap so you can try to get a somewhat reasonable roster (it will be tough enough since you won't be able to get back the players you cut and there probably are not many good players left in the league)
