I recently took over an AI team and I had to sacrifice 2 seasons in order to crawl out from under all the bad contracts. All the remaining bonus money got dumped into, "Dead Cap Next Season," which becomes, "Dead Cap This Season," soon enough. New players should not go through this. We should be lowering barriers for new players and not heightening them. Now that apparently we will be depending heavily on new players, it should be easier for them to take over teams. Not having them incur dead cap seems to me like low-hanging fruit which will benefit our new business model.

The problem there is that it would be wide open to exploits, in a game which is already pretty heavily metagamed - what's to stop someone loading their team up with dead cap then abandon it, and retake it a tick later? Or abandon a team and create a new user (against the TOS, I know) who then takes over the team.
(That being said, I don't know if the open leagues require admin approval to take over a team.)
Adding a new exploitable avenue to those leagues which aren't being actively managed would end more poorly than the current situation.

The problem with that is, that there is already a prohibition against an owner rejoining an abandoned team. Somebody could get around that with a multi account, maybe. I know that is technically illegal, but I'm sure sure it still happens. Perhaps if a team has been abandoned for a season or so? It just chafes me that I am being held responsible for the disastrous decisions of the AI. Now it feels like I'm getting stuck twiddling my thumbs while my opponents kick my head in.

abandon that team and join a league with an active admin

Makes a lot of sense. Problem is, when lots of people do that, many of our leagues lie dormant. Which is why I'm suggesting that less should depend on having an active admin. One who is rightly spending his time doing something else should not be able to spoil everyone's fun, especially when his business depends on providing fun for everyone else.

there is not a single league that is full meow. think it would be best for all players to consolidate leagues into those that have active admins......for the health of thegame. let the empty leagues die out. would be better to have full leagues than what we have now
