I wonder if JDB has ever considered making a tier system for owners for each team they own?
1: Rookie League- You just signed up and ready to play.
2: Practice Squad-promoted to this league after you have won 3 games in 3 seasons in a row or 3/5 seasons.
3: Bench League - promoted to here after you've won 5 games for 3 seasons straight or 3/5 seasons.
4. Starter League-promoted here when you have won more than 6 games consistently for 4 seasons. No time frame.
5. Contender League-promoted to here when you've made the playoffs 3 times. No time frame.
6. Playoff League-promoted to here after you're in playoffs for 6 times. No time frame.
7. Lombardi League-You have won at least 2 Super Bowls. No time frame.
8. Lombardi Greats League- You have won at least 4 Super Bowls and have high percentage rate of playoff appearances.
I think this would help the newbs gain valuable experience, as they progress up the ladder, and gain confidence playing against those with the knowledge of the game as they do.
*** Veteran MFN owners, who would like to be a mentor, for a new player, can do so by signing up and choosing a newb to mentor. Maybe there could be a Trophy system for a coach if his newb makes the playoffs, wins a Super Bowl. That would make it more interesting, for the mentor, as well as putting the newb on the fast track to better leagues.
JDB is a very busy man upgrading and maintaining this great game. Is there a way some owners could run this program? There would be some help needed, by JDB, for this to work, but it would be fun to see if the system could work.
How about 2-3 team owners, in separate leagues, and not the same owner in 3 of the same league, could form, like they do in NASCAR, and then each owner, on the owners team, would score points for wins, making the playoffs, wild card-division-conference-super bowl, champion titles. Each team would consist of 1 newb, 1 experienced but not have won a super bowl, and 1 super bowl champion.
Maybe get vet owners, who want to participate as Leader of their squad, and figure out how many owners their are in all the leagues, and then have a fantasy MFN owner draft. Leaders pick the owners they want on their team.
I know this sounds like a truck load of work. However, it will allow more owners to get to know each other, help each other to learn to make each other better players, make the leagues more competitive, possibly keep the retention rate of owners at a high return rate, make more money for JDB, and give those Lead Team owners bragging rights, when the totals are added up, to who really is the best MFN owner in all the leagues.
There is a lot of details to work out but, in the end, I believe it will make MFN better.
What do all the owners say?
