I was able to pick off some darn good players during the season at literally the lowest price you can have (that's how I got my 90 center). All I had to do was check in everyday to see if someone got let go by another team for whatever reason. It made it really easy to stock up my team at the end of this year.
Our league is only half full of actual players, and not everyone is paying attention to make a bidding war.

This dovetails into the idea of a waiver wire, which is definitely something I plan to add - where that info is pushed to you and teams have the opportunity to take over the remaining contract, giving the worst teams the higher priority. Once the player would clear waivers then he will be available to be picked up by any team.
A waiver system is a nice idea but it don't change the main point here.
Good players that are released during the season go below the radar of standard check by most of the teams.
The problem is to differentiate players released because of cap considerations to those released because of their poor values and potentials; as of today you have to check each individual cut to differentiate one to the other or make a general check in the free agents "just in case".
Maybe a notification that a player with at least 50 (maybe higher) current rating or 60 future rating got released will make those good player cut during the season more noticeable.

Honestly i dont see why a player would be released during the season unless trying to sneak him over to a new team.
I agree, I wouldnt mind seeing something similar to a notice like a trade has happened

Hm, hadn't thought about putting it into the forums. That's an interesting idea.

I would start a whole new forum for it tho as it would bury the regular League News/General Discussion forum

You think it would even if it was just one thread per sim? I'm thinking "Player Cuts: 2015 Midweek 4" and then a list of each player with their team headings. During the offseason and during cutdowns the list would be lengthy but you're not going to go hunting for players there during that time anyway.

When you sign a player from Free Agency and you're over the limit of active players, how is it determined who is cut by the automatic system? My guess is that people are signing player from free agency (because of injury or anything else), forgetting that they have too many players, and then someone good is cut by the system—that's the only way that I would see someone letting a good player go (which is to say, by accident).
