Yes, the top guy in the middle should be picked first. The list on the right side will show you the order players will be picked for you. The players you move into the middle window will go above players the AI has loaded for you to pick in the right window.

BTW, being a newbie taking a QB high might be a mistake, having a highly rated QB may not be as important as you might think.

I wouldn't pass up on RB Robert Quinn with the first pick of your MFN-65 draft.

yea i have been looking at that. i think i might be able to get by with just a decent qb. kind of cash strapped atm. not sure what the last guy was thinking. and i dont have a DL coach or the money to hire one atm.

I would take...
RB Robert Quinn (safest pick and elite player) -unfortunately HB careers tend to be shorter than most positions RDE Eric Williams (fairly safe though he could decline some) - DEs tend to player 12-15 seasons so they have some of the longer careers MLB Terry Born (fairly safe and the most ready to play right away) - LBer impact in this sim can be iffy, but Born could easily be played at DE and be an elite pass rusher or be used as a blitzer from the LBer position.
QB Calvin Valves (he's a safe pick in that he won't decline much, he's a statue in the pocket. He will most likely take a ton of sacks in this sim. With his speed I wouldn't take him anywhere in the first 3 rounds.) - QB play often feels random, I couldn't justify a high first on one that can't run.

.
Coach money means very little, just fire some of your expensive position coaches by hiring cheaper options. That will open up more coach money.
