When I game plan a defensive scheme, I adjust my run/pass ratio to A) what my scout says and then to the seasonal tendency. But when I do, my Neutral stays at 25.
I am under the impression that Neutral Run/Pass is a defensive play that could go either way, being a run base defense or a pass base defense. I have noticed on the game logs that a play may be called and have either run key or pass key next to a play.
What is a good N% to have and/or should I just focus on my opp's tendencies?

Making the assumption that neutral % is left to coach's discretion - % of the time he can adjust on the fly, though this would really be good to know for sure.

If you are in Run Key, your players get a slight boost if the offense calls a run play, and a slight hit if they call a pass play.
The opposite is true for Pass Key.
If you are in neutral, you get neither a boost or a hit.
When I game plan a defensive scheme, I adjust my run/pass ratio to A) what my scout says and then to the seasonal tendency. But when I do, my Neutral stays at 25.
Are you manually scouting your OPP tendencies for run/pass or do they show up somewhere that I haven't seen? I can see the # of times they've used the play & their familiarity but what are you referencing with the "my scout says" part?

Gameplanning > Defense > Run/Pass
At the bottom it will list their run/pass ratios for every down and distance and spot on the field.

Also, on Team Stats, add Avg Pass Attempts plus Run Att and divide either by the total
Also, it's my understanding in pass key the DBs play off. In Run key they press the LOS.

i don't think this is correct. I thought the keys were just for their reaction to a play. Run key they are likely to attack the run fake or playaction and pass key they won't bite but will be playing the pass from the snap. I could be wrong but that's how i always looked at it

Maybe that was in the discussion forum as suggestions. I'll have to go back and look. Thanks for keeping me straight. I don't want to give bad info.
