(I suppouse this have been brought up before but I gave up searching :)
AFTER the League GAMES have started: If having 53 contracted players allready (or will get more than 53 if get contract offers accepted.) 1. If bid at Waiwers or Free agents. can they accept anyway?
2. So if geting more than 53 contracted players after MIDWEEK, will there be any problem if cut enough many players BEFORE NEXT GAME?
Or are cuts needed to be done before knowing if get any new player?
To get it compleete: If no problem with what I asked above - can it never be more than 60 contracts after Midweek? (Still having max 53 at next game.) It's possible a recent taken ower team can need a lot of change of players :)

Players can sign at any time during the season, I believe.
If you make cuts before the Game spin, everything should be okay. If you are over 53 when the Game spins, the AI will cut players for you.
You can have over 53 players on your roster after Midweek spin. You must be at or below 53 players before the Game spin.
That is essentially the purpose for the midweek sims, so that you have an opportunity to make offers on players that will take you over the limit and still have a chance to choose who you will release to get back under the limit.
I'm playing in a new league, and it's my first year as well. I can sign additional players any-old-time, not just during free agency? From what I've read, players are going to want guaranteed money during free agency, what about outside free agency? When the season starts, are unemployed guys going to have much lower salary demands? There are a few positions I really want bolster on my team, like some short-yardage guys, and other positions where I think it'd be nice to just have some more depth. But I don't wanna pay the salaries I see the computer suggesting in free agency for players that fit into that category of "I just need another guy here, doesn't matter much who..."

Yes, you can sign a FA at any time during the season. They will require less "minimum bonus" money than if you wanted to resign one of your own players, during or after the regular season. Sometimes you will have to spend more at the beginning of the season, as many teams are looking to sign the same guy.
The thing to remember is FA's will mostly sign with the team that gives them the most guaranteed money (bonus). That is the hard part in the free agency periods (beginning of the season). You want to sign the FA, but don't want to break the bank doing so.
I often will check out the FA market near the end of the season. You can find some decent gems at a fraction of the price.
