Jacksonville - Detroit MFN2
around 7 mn remaining in 4th quarter, Jacksonville just scored J 14 D 23, Jacksonville try an onside kick. Nothing warranted one so soon in my opinion.

That's actually controlled in the "hurry up" settings - hurry up basically means that you are pulling out all the stops, you stop running (unless you are wanting to drain some clock because you are in range to score a go-ahead FG or TD) and you go into onside kicks. So Jacksonville may have had that value higher than he would like, or perhaps he wanted to do that.

Why does hurry-up mean you stop running. Shouldn't it just mean you snap the ball quickly?

It would be great if we had some control over this.

you stop running because a failed run will drain the clock still but a failed throw will stop the clock.

I would like to have some control over this, especially since our QBs are going to be penalized for throwing too much with a greater chance of injuries. If you get down big, you may end up throwing on every play.

Plus, maybe I have a great running game, but a poor passing game. I may just want to run the plays quicker in my hurry up offense.

I have also been thinking that a non huddle offence would be a good addition.

hurry up is not the same as no huddle

Splitting hairs....
The hurry-up no-huddle offense (HUNH) refers to avoiding or shortening the huddle to limit or disrupt defensive strategies and flexibility. The two-minute drill is a clock-management strategy that may limit huddles but also emphasizes plays that stop the game clock.

No, I agree with you! Just in the context of the game (how it's programmed) no huddle means no running, while Sardean means it in the sense of accelerating the rhythm between snaps but still wants to run. In a team that is much more efficient at running than passing, it can make all the difference.
