Welcome to the new Beta version of the MyFootballNow website! Please note that while using the Beta website, some features may not work correctly and other features are not complete. Some elements, such as notifications and chat, may act strangely during the time that both versions of the site are available. If you need to return to the old version, click on the button below.
During November I focused primarily on squashing bugs and tightening up stability across the platform. Here are a few of the specific issues addressed:
Gameplan rule descriptions were previously required — these are now fully optional.
Resolved situations where Players of the Week and certain player award calculations could return empty results.
Fixed several outlier issues that could cause a forum thread to crash.
Cleaned up a handful of miscellaneous 500 errors.
I’ve also seen some chatter about gameplans not sticking correctly. I haven’t been able to reproduce this in my testing, but it's certainly possible that something in the new UI isn’t saving as expected. The old UI and the game engine haven’t been updated recently, so comments about the old UI failing in certain places are interesting. If there’s a reliable way to reproduce this issue, please let me know — having a specific set of steps would help me diagnose and fix it quickly.
Thanks again for your patience as we continue the migration process!
There are no steps, you save your misc gameplans, move on, come back 6 hours later and some of it changes! No other input happens, the most frustrating thing is that it occurs within the Same simulation day, so unless the trigger is caused by OTHER managers changing their settings and bleeding over, I’m just making things up now. But of course it can’t be recreated at the source, Every user on the site experiences it, but the code is simply broken. It’s possible it has always been that way, I have seen the gameplan adjustment speed change occasionally in the old UI, but it was so rare and seemed to be the only part that got changed. Now it’s random values for everything on that page, and multiple times daily.

A couple of questions: 1. Are you going to the misc gameplan page in only the new UI, or are you switching between the UI's? 2. Does it only happen when there is a sim between the two times you checked or does it happen during the same stage?
I'm trying to isolate whether it is: a. An issue from going between the two UI's - in which case there is something incompatible with the way the new UI is doing it b. An issue with the new UI saving something odd that is causing the game engine to reset it
I'd be interested to see if you can reproduce it by making the settings in the new UI, going to view them in the old UI, maybe making changes there, and then going back to the new UI and see if anything changes there. If it is something with the game engine resetting it, that would also be a clue that gives me something to investigate.
I don’t switch to the old ui unless I have to anymore because most of it does not load for me anymore and I need to take about 3 steps to navigate where I want to be now. But that is a separate issue. I am using safari on an iPhone, but I don’t think that is the only format this happens with. I do not log out or log back in, I don’t switch UI’s, and I rarely do anything beside navigate from depth charts to roster page or forums. I will save the settings, go do other things, circle back and everything looks fine. Go to work or anything else real life, come back the same day, and it’s different.

Ok, so to just be clear, you are making changes in the new UI, saving them, doing other things, coming back and it looks good. Then, without a sim running between, you come back and values are changed, no sim has run in the meantime. Is that correct? Is it just a specific setting or is it all of them just becoming wacky?
It happened to me and I exclusively use the old UI. The only time I'm on the new UI is when I first get to MFN as it takes me there by default. I always switch to the old UI right away.
The switches do not always happen but it did for my recent preseason game as it left my starters in all game when I never set it up that way.
It’s not everything on the page, but the first clue usually spot is fg distance setting since they are at the top, sometimes those stay, but other settings get manipulated like the adjustment speed I mentioned, the pull starters points and minutes, receive or defer kickoffs, fatigue settings (I’ve had that set global before and come back to find it specific for each position with different values for every one). Not everything shifts every time, it becomes a game within the game to find out where the sim is trying to screw you up.
I know it’s a long shot, but is it possible other players could change their settings and somehow it saves or duplicates on a different profile?
In fact I just checked it now and my player fatigues were all changed and preseason starters were changed to being pulled after the 1st quarter for all 3 games (I had it at halftime), adjustment speed changed as well…and I was just here reading and posting in the meantime…
Last night I changed my fatigue settings to 50 for all positions for the start of the regular season. Just checked and now it's sitting at 35, where I had it for preseason.
