Had a mishap when drafting; had messed the manual order up so drafted a player not needed.
I noticed there's a "Void contract" option on the player page - what does this do?
What I presume is that you can click it at some point ( presumably there's a time limit ) and it cancels the rookie contract. I'd also assume the player gets released and you take a cap hit?

I believe it voids the cap hit, which is the difference between cutting him.

So basically cutting the player without a cap impact? The penalty would thus then only be loss of the draft pick? Interesting to know.

That is correct, you can void a draft pick's contract which removes the contract without the cap hit. You have this option until Training Camp and only for drafted players in the year you draft them.

Useful clarification - the Pending Contracts page needs updating though, I still see a Cap Hit fora voided draftee, which I presumably shouldn't :)

McHenry and King should have a 0 cap effect. All others will if they have bonus due that season.
