Training Camp & Preseason Games
by oldbone @ 11/23/2015 5:49 am
1. Does a player's active/inactive status affect their training camp at all? Any info on training camp? (can't find any in the getting started guide)

2. Can we have more than 46 players active for preseason games?

Thanks in advance!

1. You need to put players into the position(s) that you want them to play in order to get to know the plays and position. If you look on a players bio, say a RB lined up in the depth chart as an RB he might be rated something like 50/60 , which is current/future values at that position. If you moved him to say Left Guard that 50/60 would most likely change to something like 22/37. But if you moved them into WR it may very well go up, best idea is to move them around and see.
As far as I'm aware, being active or inactive doesn't affect a players growth.

2. In pre-season you can have up to 60 players on roster, but you will need to trim your roster to 53 BEFORE the first regular game.

For #1. It doesn't matter what position the player is listed at in the depth chart. It matters what position the player is assigned to on the player card. His "official" position.

Example: If you have a RB in the depth chart only as a WR, he will still train as a RB in training camp.

Then it is impossible to train players for special team positions in training camp? Because you cannot put them in these special positions in their player cards?!

roster size and "active players" are 2 diff questions.

For preseason games, can you have more than 46 players ACTIVE?

Thanks!

The answer is the same for both questions - 60.

Correct. You can't train players for S/T.

And just to close the loop:

- During the regular season, you can have 53 on roster, 46 active?
