When I offered a contract extension to a player, I didn't get a popup saying it might put me over the cap; however, when the player signed, I went over the cap. Since that was the only signing I made in that game stage, how did I go over the cap?
I'm not sure, I am revisiting the contract calculator logic though.

I'd guess IMPATIENCE is your problem, With the amount of trades and high dollar FA's and top tier Draft Picks you have blown thru, over the past few months, it's no wonder your headed for "Cap ****".
Probably time to pack it up and get another team and leave this one so someone else can get stuck with it. Seems to be the cool thing to do!

I'll take the bait and assume you weren't. I'm happy to say I've still got all my draft picks for the next few years and most of my best players are locked up for 3+ years. The ones that aren't all have 2 years remaining so I have time to wait for increased cap space to renegotiate. So what's "Cap ****"? :)
Throw in two consecutive championships and I don't think impatience is a problem either. I might just decide to stick around for a third.
