Take QB with high draft pick?

I'm new to this game and trying to figure out what to do with my first overall draft pick. Is a 46/93 QB worth taking? There are also some pretty good offensive line, specifically a 53/95 C that I'm pretty high on, but also a 49/100 RG. But I worry about how important the offensive line actually is in this game. Especially RG since it's typically a pretty lame position, but he is the guy with the highest overall and taking best available player is typically a good strategy.
All overalls are using the default logarithm. Link to draft here. http://mfn16.myfootballnow.com/draft_class_search/b4bd7760d3644727956cec1d600170b2 Thanks. |

I'd take the WB or the CB.

Looks like that team needs a complete rebuild. You have a tough road ahead of you. I am new as well so take this with a grain of salt. Looks like you need so much that your BPA strategy is pretty good.
QB has 14 years in the league but could survive another year. You will need a new one soon RB - Your highest rated RB has a 9 speed. I wouldn't even put him on the depth chart. The next guy isn't bad for depth and you could survive a year with him if you had to. TE - Pretty decent player except for the 0 rating in discipine Wr - Top two are solid players FB - Poor OL - RG may be your best player but he lacks weight. Definitely need a C and RT ASAP LDE - Good young prospect - play him DT - Subpar but workable for now RDE - I like him.. in my weighted rating system he would be rated higher SLB - May be your worst position MLB - 3 decent players - may want to move one to SLB WLB - Good player and some weak depth. CB - Only have one on the roster, may have to position change a Safety SS/FS - can get by with what you have, but not great... K - not one on the roster Looks like a trade down for more picks kinds situation. What I have seen is that not many people do that here though. Might be easier said than done. Look through FA and see where there is depth. Might not be much there either. Draft picks QB - 8 that have a max rating of 80 or better... Good chance one of those will get to you in the 2nd rd. RB - none worthy of the #1 picks.. Some nice ones in there though.. Wr - None worthy of #1 OL - Robinson would be a good choice and then move him to RT.. I also like Woodard DE - Marion Via is a STUD, but DE may be one of your best positions DT - None OLB - None Worthy of #1 MLB - None worthy of #1 CB - Archer is a Stud and you need DB help bad... SS/FS - None worthy of a first |

For what its worth, I just started a new team and went fairly early on with O line, all pretty much 80+. In games they are getting owned by DTs and DEs in their 60s and 70s rating.... never again will I do this strategy
