Hello all.
I'm new to the game, but have a lot of experience with Sports management sims. It is my experience that while most designers try to make things realistic, it hardly ever works out like the real thing.
Question; what is your opinion as to what is the most important position in this sim at this point in time. Multiple answers listed in order of importance would be very useful.

I'm coming up on the draft, just joined my league before early FA, and wanted to get some opinions from some of the more experienced players.

Thanks in advance

Well you can't expect us to give you all the answers; gotta figure it out like the rest of us did :)

But some general notes: QBs are overrated, offensive line isn't very good at pass blocking, fast defensive ends are OP, defense and a good run game win championships.

Good luck.

Thanks for the response Chipped.

HAHA, im not looking for ALL the answers. The learning curve is half the fun. I've just been in some sims that were sooo unrealistic you didn't know where to start. Just trying to get a feel for things.
Besides, it seems like it could be a fun topic, and spark some good discussion. the forums can be a lot of fun as well

Cheers

IMO RB, WR, DE, SS and CB are the most important positions oh yeah and draft speed over everything!

In my opinion a SS can really make a defense. Honestly, if you have a basic understanding of football just apply your winning formula. Yes the learning curve can be challenging but as long as you understand the direction you want to go in then you'll be perfectly fine. That's just my tip.

I appreciate the replys. I've played many of the existing ( or extinct) american football games with varying degrees of success. Some are completely unrealistic, some fairly accurate. I'm just trying to get a feel for how I should approach this one.

I would say from a gameplan + strategy, this game is one of the more realistic ones. What I like, is that you can have a preference or philosiphy for what you want your offense or defense to look like, and you have every chance to build it and be successful, if you know what you're doing.

I've played tons of sim games, this is near the top on my list.
