Quick question to save my future.

I got the message that I was over the cap and that the game will cut my most expensive players at the first preseason game. Specifically, does that mean midweek or gametime? I'm looking to carry my current roster through training camp but I'm worried if I get to training camp and wait until midweek it'll cut my franchise quarterback or something. So what is it, gamete or midweek?

The cap is enforced on the game stages. Your roster count is enforced at training camp, but not the cap. The midweek stage will not make the cuts, either, so you have until the actual game stage to get under the cap.

Just to clarify, if i'm slightly over at the midweek stage and cut after the midweek stage has advanced, when the game sims it'll know that I'm planning to cut some guys already and won't cut my franchise QB?

Yes, you will get a warning if you are over the cap at the midweek stage, but it will execute any cuts you have pending before the AI does anything itself. If your cuts bring you below the cap then you will be ok.
