If they are not showing, what is the point in showing any of them?

The point of showing is to help drive up the competition and salaries for those players.
But if the most recent bids are NOT showing, then this is moot. Unless it automatically updates every time a bid is put in.

During the free agency stages the player in all likelihood will not accept an offer in the first week.

During the season, yes, it is moot - and you won't see competing offers except during the free agency stages.

But they do sometimes and often the FAs that I go after. If the whole point of showing offers is to drive up the market and open competition, then we need to see offers in 'live' time, auto-updated if you like.

The problem with that is that it gives a competitive advantage to someone who is able to be at the computer right before the sim launches. One of my goals is to not have any advantage to being on at a certain time - the draft and trades are by their nature going to have some of that, but salary bidding is one area that is too critical to allow that.
