Players no longer under contract should immediately be removed from the depth chart. It's really confusing when you enter a new season and don't notice that your bench players listed in the depth chart are no longer on your team, and you think you have more depth than you actually do.

that's already been done its part of the new interface, also when you cut a player it immediately take him off available players (if he is assigned in depth chart he will stay assigned until the actual cut)

Really? I was using the new interface today and still noticed that.

if you were using the new interface then either it was a bug or you have them assigned to a position in your depth chart and the cut hasn't actually gone through yet

I had them assigned in the depth chart and they weren't cuts; they were players whose contracts had expired with the advent of the new season.

I'm saying these players should be removed from the depth chart assignments at the start of the new season so I don't see three safeties in my free safety assignment when there is actually only one under contract.

I know it has been suggested previously when the End of Season sims, FAs are not shown on your team. I think its a future update item.

That being said, the only temporary thing you can do is to cut the players before the EOS runs. That way they are off your roster. Just dont go below 46 players!

I think you can go below 46 if you make the cuts on the LAST stage of the season. If you do it early the AI will sign players for you.

I know I have begun the new season before with less than 46 players on my roster.

Correct, the AI will only check your roster on game stages but it does on each game stage even if you are not in the playoffs. So you would be safe making cuts on the end of season stage but not on the league championship stage.
