Hey guys, I know I have been quiet all season...but as I prepare for this upcoming season, need some help understanding this...

What affects a players cur/fut rating? Is there anything that impacts it differently in the off-season vs regular season?

Also, why would a players fut/cur ratings drop so fast? (take a look at my CB, #37, on his progress chart, I don't understand why or know how to affect it).

Any insight would be appreciated

Wow, he is dropping fast - I think it has to do with his age, he's right at the age where he's going to start declining.

The player ratings are updated at the training camp stage and during each game sim. You should see large movement during the training camp stage, and you will see slower movement during the season. The coaching staff also influences how quickly his ratings adjust. But I think you might have just gotten some unfortunate dice rolls, I've not seen someone decline quite that dramatic during the season.

Would be nice if it lasted longer...

Also, their ratings seem to change when you edit player weights. I guess their rating is based on your weights... JDB can verify this. I updated my weights in MF-2, and noticed players had different ratings when I went back to the player screen.

That is correct - you have complete control over the ratings you see. When you edit the player weights, that is the purpose, each player's rating is calculated as a sum of their attributes multiplied by the weights you have set.
