But not totally inconceivable.

Tackling skill of players that missed tackles:

27 - Boyd Rodgers - 56
41 - Norman Anderson - 51
24 - Robert Sampson - 47
49 - Stickles - 13
(Then some blockers try to take down the guy.)
Finally brought down by Stickles and the punter. It's lucky that they didn't miss another tackle.

How often, if ever, is a punt blocked? Perfectly safe to sub all the blockers for defenders?

I've never seen one blocked. I've never seen one close to blocked.

The logic is there for a blocked punt but the players don't get there fast enough. It is something I will eventually look at.

It is usually a solid one or two seconds after the punter catches the snap that the ball is out of blockable range. Closer to the two if he is putting some leg into it. It's pretty quick here.
