Player signed in FA; resignable in current season?

Signed the player in Early FA in current season and when fiddling around with contracts noticed he was able to accept another contract in the same season.

I was under the impression once signed in the current season, no other offers can be made?

What do you see that makes you think that happened? His transaction log show that he signed a contract in 2017 (when he was drafted) and then again in 2021 during free agency.

Is it because he will only do 6 yrs and hes signed for 6?

https://cust9.myfootballnow.com/player/1430 .. reupped for 5 years in current season I can still offer a 5 or 6 year deal.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE (that way I thought it was setup):

https://cust10.myfootballnow.com/player/480 signed in FA this year to a 2 year contract ... there is no 'CONTRACT' button to reup ...
