I was thinking This stage should be brought in as the first stage of a new season. I like to resign players during the playoffs but I can't resign most of my players because the cap goes to the current years salary and any offer I try to offer that would put my team over the salary cap the player would decline the offer so if we had a resign stage at the beginning of a season we won't have to compete with other teams to resign a player

Not a fan of adding an additional sim day BUT, if it allows me to sign extensions vs. Reupping the current year to get next year .. I'd be ok.

Coaches included ...

I wouldn't want this implemented until player demands for their contracts is fixed. The FA market is already virtually bereft because it's simple to resign your own impending FAs. Until that's fixed, I'm not in favor of anything that would make it even easier.

I feel the same...So far in this game, the only way you feel cap pressure is if you're in a custom league and half your teams contracts come up at the same time(wuz up with that lol) or you went after all the free agents and spent all of your cap...other than that I've never come close to being over the cap and I actually resign my players for what they ask for...if i played around with it I'm sure I could have even more cap space..

I'm going to do some updates to the player requests to make them more inline with what happens in the NFL - that will be part of not this upcoming release but the next. The tricky part here is going to be easing leagues into these higher contracts, because for a franchise QB to go from using 5% of the cap to 20% (as a rough example) in one contract request is going to hammer pretty much everyone.

How will you determine what a "franchise QB" is? Or a top tier player at any position?

Will this be based on my weights, or some unknown/unseen standard rating system?

It would be based on the default weights, where a 100-rating on the default weights would demand the top salary working down to 50 or 60 wanting minimum salary.

Will we ever be able to see these default ratings?

It would help understand why I have a player rated 70 demanding $20M per year, and a player rated 90 who'll settle for $2M.

Yes, I do like that idea and will probably implement it soon.
