newbie training camp question

Does depth chart effect training camp?

Is there anything I should be doing to prepare for training camp/preseason games?

Nothing effects training camp except not having all your coaching slots filled. Even that won't effect much.

And having players in the right position. Don't draft a RB that you intend to make a WR and then forget to make him a WR before camp... /facepalm/

You can also "experiment" and intentionally play someone out of position - and he will gain some experience at the position, albeit slight.

Weight issues are what concern me more. I draft a lot of players out of position in mid-to-late rounds. If you miss a camp, that 5-8 pound weight gain/loss can play a big part in a player's success his first year.

I should say weight loss could play because underweight players don't seem to get the same overall penalty because of weight that overweight players get, so it's hard to tell how much they are affected. Then again, I don't tend to play a lot of 200-220 OL/DL like I've seen in other leagues.

I agree about weight gain/loss concerns. My starting RB in MFN-7 gained 8 lbs in the off season, and is now overweight and really looks sluggish when he runs despite 100 sp. Time for the Atkins diet, I guess.

Just camp him at WR for the next few season and get him back down to 200. I find that the sweet spot for break away speed is between 190-205.

I just might do that. Thanks.
