While trying to scout a opponent and what plays they call on downs,80% of the time it doesn't show me anything at all except Off Familiarity and Def Familiarity for that play.
Is there a way around this that I'm missing?

You can't, unless you manually go through the game logs and make notes about every play.

I've been asking/hoping for better gameplanning/scouting tools for more than a year now. It doesn't seem likely that any improvements in this area will be made before 2017 at best, if at all.

The only thing even remotely related to this on the "Roadmap" is downloadable game logs, which would be great, but that is probably months away based on everything else that is shown ahead of it.
