I hate to keep going back to this subject, but it really needs to be addressed. Injuries are way out of wack. 6 injuries in my scrim today. Without looking back right now I think 1 doubtful, 1 questionable and 4 probs.

I know it's been said the prob. statuses aren't too much to be alarmed about, but it's also been said if a player plays with any sort of injury that their probability of getting injured again or worse increases. Injuries are part of the game IRL, but not to this extent every season.

I think at one point in the scrim I had 5 guys get injured on 5 consecutive plays.

It would be nice if JDB could do an analysis of injury rates (if he hasn't already). NFL injury rates aren't hard to find. Here's a series of articles by Football Outsiders that takes a pretty deep look at it:

I disagree! Football players get injured a lot! They just play through them

I disagree! Football players get injured a lot! They just play through them

This is my opinion as well. In fact you probably have heard people say that the only non-injured players on an NFL team during most of the season are the players that warm the bench. Injuries appear more common here because, unlike the NFL, you're actually aware of all of them. With that taken into consideration, technically the injury rate is fairly low here.

There are lots of things, and I hope to address them as I become more knowledgeable about the game.

Please don't interpret this post as my whining or griping about how it is the AI's fault that I lose. My comments today are how injuries relate to us all. IF this happens to everyone, as JDB states, "injuries appear more common..................technically the injury rate is fairly low here."
Why do INJURIES have such an important part in deciding the outcome of the game?

I squeaked into the playoffs today in MFN -73. I'll grant you my team is not very good. As Dennis Green once said, "THEY ARE who we KNOW THEY are"

Listed below is my attempt at demonstrating how important injuries are in MFN, and how I believe they (sometimes? ) help decide the outcome of the playoffs MORE than the players, coaches, referee's, game planning and play calling.

I have (10) injured players going into the wildcard game

Maybe something could be done to "tone down" the injury frequency algorithm after week 14 -16? Let the "boys be boys" and fight it out come playoff time, my best vs your best?

I don't have the answer, but I do feel way too many games are being decided by random injuries.

I had both my top HBs miss the championship game and a SS play through a questionable injury. My HBs always seem to be hurt for my biggest games.

RBs do seem to get injured very often here.
It seems like you never have a RB play 16 games anymore.

More important (to me) is knowing, and being able to determine, at which point a player will be pulled from a game due to an injury suffered that game.

For example, the AI may want to play a player who is questionable, but most likely I will not.

If I have a player suffer an in-game injury that lowers his health rating to where he would be considered questionable, I don't want him to return unless his health has improved.

I think the AI will keep sending a player back into the game until they are carted off the field.

In addition, I want a player's rating (overall and skill specific) to take his health into consideration.

If I have a 90 rated RB with a broken leg, he shouldn't appear as a 90 overall with 100 speed.

(Serious) injuries are too low in MFN compared to real life. But I would not like to see injuries (rate or seriousness) in MFN changed unless and until GMs have a say in whether to play an injured player during the game in which he suffers an injury. I am more likely to rest an injured payer who is hurt early in the season than I am to rest that player during the playoffs - even if he suffers a worse injury.
