Game logic error

Not sure if this is the correct place for this, but encountered a strange issue.

1-13-DEN 1 (4:42) 34-George McCulley ran for -3 yards. Tackle by 92-Charles Taylor. SAFETY! (92-Charles Taylor) PENALTY - Holding (DEN 58-Luis Spear)

So the player was tackled for a safety, but my team apparently chose to take the penalty over the result of the play. Not a terribly logical choice, especially considering they completed a 19 yard pass the next play.
