I think it would be more appropriate for the defensive play "4-3 Under Crash Left" to be in the "2 Deep Man" category instead of the "1 Deep Man" category. It may only have one deep zone, but it has two men playing deep coverage. So for all intents and purposes it is essentially a "2 deep" play.

Saying 2 or 3 deep will always refer to the zone coverage scheme, that's the terminology in real football too, I see no reason to change that.

Man refers to the cbs scheme and 1 deep is the zone scheme for who ever is responsible deep.

In a 3 Deep Zone you have at least 1 CB playing a Deep Zone.
