Do playing time has an influence on players development? In addition, if a young player gets injured, could it affect his development?

Playing time increases a player's experience at the position as well as the short-term conditioning benefit, but they gain their attributes at practice.
I am far from an authority on anything, but I seem to recall that JDB has stated a players retirement (sooner vs later) could be affected by multiple injuries.
(edited my original comment to say what I meant to say "could be")

Only those that have you out for 12+ weeks? What about injuries to the specific pieces parts? Or what about multiple injuries that occur (over several seasons) to particular said mentioned parts? Like a leg injury to a WR? Or an arm injury to a QB?

I am uncertain of the exact threshold that determines if an injury is serious, but if you view the player and look at the transactions tab it will show if an injury was serious under that section. I have noticed that the game does not always show every injury that may have occurred here or in the team transactions. In this case there is really no way to know if it's serious.

Thanks for the further explanation.
I've had several players that haven't had what I thought was a "serious" injury, but they were hurt 4 or more times in a season. I consider that to be a player I'd might rather have playing for a team other than mine.
Reminds me of former ALL American from Penn State Courtney Brown. NEVER hurt a single game in college.
Then after being drafted #1 overall in the 2000 draft, he played all 16 games his rookie season, recording 4.5 sacks.
The rest of his career was one injury after another, finishing with an additional 14.5 sacks over the remaining 5 years.
Totally unlike arguably the best running back of ALL time, Jim Brown, who never missed a down in his CAREER due to injury.

His problem was being drafted by the Browns.

A "serious" injury will show up in the transaction log as "serious." If it doesn't say 'serious', it is not considered when the retirement calculation runs.
