Onside Kick

This was just something I have never seen before so I really dont know what the rule is. The opposing team tried an onside kick and the kick actually went backwards and out of bounds. Instead of my team getting the ball they game allowed a rekick with no penalty or anything. Is this a glitch? I am sure you probably never had this issue before or even had a real game situation to even compare it to.

Wow, that's a weird one, at the very least that shouldn't happen. I'll check to make sure there's a clamp on that kick direction.

Weird.
FYI, looks like there may have been a 5 yard penalty.

I would think the receiving team would have the option tho of spot of ball or penalty |
