I've really started looking at play diversity in a lot of my teams the last couple days, and I can confidently say that.... I hate the current play calling matrix even more now than I did before, there is nothing intuitive about it, the biggest problem I see is you may think I want to run a cover 1 based man scheme but I don't want to be overly aggressive with CB/SS blitzes, but because a lot of the play classifications aren't really what you would think they would be your LB and and Secondary sliders may actually line up to call a ton of one or two plays even if you have 20+ defensive plays selected in total. At least that is my take on it.
