Can they announce retirement at any point or is it always at the End Of Season update/spin?

Can they retire even if you have a contract with them or would they simply stop renewing their contracts?

i.e with some old guys I have, if I extend their contract would that guarntee them staying or might they still go?

They can retire with a contract and you eat the rest of the bonus money as dead cap.

It bugs me that a player can have a retirement %, but coaches don't, then all of a sudden they're gone.
Also I'd like to know WHO has poached a coach, which currently you can't see.

Its no secret that I'm not the biggest fan of the whole coaching fiasco, and its stuff like that that is unnecessary.

I can see who poaches my coaches only because I send out new offers during FA 1.

I think what lellow means is if you up them a dollar ever year and someone offers 1,000,000 more, it'll show on the transactions logs your offer was rejected and where they signed elsewhere.

Exactly, I give my position coaches a 1 dollar raise each season. This also helps to avoid having them poached past the first round of early free agency. There is nothing more annoying than having a good coach poached in FA5 and you have to wait until after the draft to sign some shitty coach when the market is barren.

Question about that concerning coaches and poaching them. Say if you give a coach/coaches a raise and they sign a contract in FA-1. Can another team still come back in later weeks of the FA market and sign them to a better or bigger deal? Or can coaches only negotiate one contract per season?
