Interestingly enough the custom leagues seem to fill up and stay filled up more than the standard leagues - new leagues are automatically created when there is only one league of that type with available spots (available spots means more than one team available). So you can keep an eye on https://www.myfootballnow.com/all-leagues to kind of gauge how the current leagues are filling up.
