I'll typically carry an extra player each to be a TE/FB, DE, LB, and DB. Also my backup OL are backups at the other OL positions as well. Regarding salary cap, it's fairly easy to manage as long as you don't go overboard in FA. Currently in L9 I am close to $50m in dead cap due to a stupid FA contract .. lesson learned!
