How do you drop from a league?

Well, hopefully we will get a response from someone. I'm in two leagues and just want to manage one now.

You can't "drop" your team midseason - if you want to leave a league, just don't renew into the next year - but the AI is pretty good about handling abandoned teams without messing up the competitive balance of the league. If you want to be nice you could install a gameplan and make sure your pending free agents are signed, but if you don't the AI will re-sign FA's at the end of the season for any teams whose owners are not coming back and if you haven't made a gameplan yet the AI will do it for you.

It wouldn't be fair on the other players if an owner just 'stopped playing', so I will be out to cause as much of a headache as possible for the season I'm in mfn1.
I would like another team (3 in total) but 1 just isn't for me. I apologise as I'm sure there are other folks who would like to be in mfn-1.

Ok, then why not have a system where if you no longer want to partake in a league, you click a box or something, confirm it.

Could have a list somewhere visible of all teams whose owner is looking to "sell up". Somebody sees I want to drop out of a league, someone else wants the team. They press a button, team ownership gets changed.

You'd need to have some form of validation though - same owner with multiple teams in the same league for example.

Nah, you click that button to take a team on, you make that decision there and then. If you have any indecision, don't do it.
The team I have has been run into the ground and needs rebuilding. I already have one team like that and until I took this one on, just didn't realize how much time and effort it was going to take.
I'll do what I can this season, but all my plans are one & done

Personally I'd actually choose a team in the gutter - first, you have no expectations, and second, when you do finally start to do well it's so much more satisfying.
