CUST84: I see we have new owners already. This, at least for one team I researched, means that the owner drafted the team and then decided he didn't want it. There should be some type of rule preventing this.

I'm sure this has happened before but it's kinda cheesy and it certainly doesn't reflect RL football.

Unfortunately the alternative is that they just abandon the team and there is no owner through the entire season. At least they are being conscientious enough to release control of the team.

i think there should be some kind of penalty for abandoning teams consistently.

I another online FB league that I am in, they don't let you buy another team for 20 days if you drop one vs. just letting the ownership expire.

This wouldn't avoid what David said, whereas the owner would be inactive, but it would reduce the overall affect on multiple leagues. In other words it wouldn't help the league with the deadbeat owner but it would avoid him moving on and doing it in other leagues.

If you abandon a team it keeps it open throughout an entire season? Ouch. What's the reasoning behind not allowing another owner to come in and swoop up the dismissed team?

i think JDB misspoken. i think if a person abandones a team someone else can get it.

yep someone else can get it...i picked up a team in week 2 of pre season just to play in a league without much of a history.

I meant that if we block abandoning a team, they can still be abandoned but no one can run them. At least these folks are abandoning them so someone else can take them over.

I would like to see the "abandon team" feature removed with the only true way to leave the team is to not renew it during the year thus opening it up to be taken over the following season. Just my opinion though.

It's probably better to let them abandon the team so someone else can take the team instead of just having an inactive owner.
