I know nothing about programming, but using this game engine or one very similar, how difficult would it be to get a baseball version of this game off the ground?

From an incredibly selfish personal standpoint, I need a baseball game other than losing money on Draftkings and Yahoo Fantasy. And I can't get into The Show, mainly because I don't own a Playstation.

But from a business standpoint a baseball game on the level with this one would be incredibly lucrative. Just using the CBS Sports Moguls games as an example...it is perfectly clear that the players of the baseball game spend more money and invest more time into their baseball teams than hockey, basketball, or football. Not to mention that the dedication required to operate a baseball franchise takes a certain kind of institutional crazy.

This game was an absolute diamond find for me, and judging by just how many active owners who are concerned with the deeper theories and strategies of the game I can't imagine what sort of success a baseball game, when baseball, in my opinion, caters more to that sort of in-depth thinking than any other sport, would be.

I'd be incredibly interested in a discussion on this topic, even if it never comes to fruition.

Ootp is the best baseball sim by far

See though, it's a download. That prevents me from playing at work.

I would try SimDynasty Baseball.
It has a draft, minor leagues, majors, and plays 3-4 games a day

Whatifsports.com has a dynasty mode as well. OOTP is the best but there are others for those in my situation where you can't just break out a laptop at work all day and play.
