I have a guy I'd like to sign that I cut TWO seasons ago. Due to an early retirement, I'd like to have the cut guy back after a 32 game hiatus. Apparently he will never sign with us again due to the 'player history' of being cut in season's past?

I can see the same season but never again? I would like to see that changed.

Agreed players sign back with the teams that cut them almost by preference. A lot get cut at some point test the market and then sign back with the team at a reduced rate.

3 sims and they should resign with you .. especially with the forthcoming waiver wire everyone can see who is being released.

I don't know, I kinda like it the way it is... I'm okay with a player being choked even years later. I think it has to be harder to sign players, and I think this is a good place to start.

Why should it be 'harder to sign players'?

It is a FA situation so everyone has a chance to bid. That factored with the salary cap already put parameters, why make it unrealistic in terms of negating any possibility of re-signing someone after a certain time period.

I don't think it's entirely 'unrealistic', as you say. I think that some, not all, but some players would hold a grudge against a team for years. I don't know how it's being coded, if EVERY player didn't let you resign them for the remainder of their careers if you'd cut them, yes, that would be unrealistic. But if the occasional player says, 'screw you, you cut me and I'm not playing for you', I have no problem with that. I know that you probably want to sign whoever you want whenever you want, that's fine, I just don't have a problem with it.

I think that one of the issues with the game is that it's too easy to NOT give up good players. If you have a great team that's nice, but if you **** and want to get better it's tough when guys are resigning starting players for cheap. The contracts supposedly have been upgraded in the new release, and that's awesome. In the real world, it's hard for GM's to hold on to talent, it's been too easy here.

If they want to demand more because you cut them previously .. fine. But I can't imagine any player being so sore they refuse another contract from the team that cut them.

actually i think this is the many difference between NFL and MFN because in the NFL players have gone back to a team they played for , also at times they really arent picky when team offers them a contract , etc.

now if really we cant get a chance to get those players again (not saying we should be able to because somehow that could be abused) then really make it where people could sign them from another league.

like for example
lets say that player you cut is in MFN 2 well i noticed you are in MFN 6 also so make so where you could bring that player into MFN 6 on your team.

or at least make it where they are only angry at us for 1 complete season or 1 calendar year.
