Getting frustrated
by Mr.Krazy @ 8/02/2017 11:25 pm
I literally have no idea what I'm doing wrong. In all of my leagues, I'm getting blown out week in and week out despite having a 50/50 run/pass gameplan and a diverse defensive gameplan.

I'm noticing constant flaws and trying to stay patient but my patience is quickly starting to fade. I have elite receivers with multiple 100 ratings that drop wide open passes while my opponent catches passes in triple coverage with 50-80 ratings. My Quarterbacks are making extremely irrational decisions. Players are constantly missing assignments such as man coverage despite being fast players.

Every game I watch, I grow increasingly annoyed and frustrated with all of these dumbfounded plays that are produced by my teams.

I'm slowly getting to the point where I'm seriousl considering taking a hiatus from the game as a whole. I have much respect for JDB and believe that he will eventually have the perfect product, but right now I'm struggling to keep some sanity and patience with what has happened in all of my games the past few weeks

Awww maaaaan, I play you tonight! Hang in there, Krazy, you are well liked and respected by so many guys... I don't know what the issue is with your teams... The only thing I would suggest to an owner struggling to win is that they have to find a good mix of plays. I'm always going over my plays, every 5 games or so, and if a play isn't working I get rid of it and try a new one. But I think you do this already...

Yeah, use a very similar strategy in terms of trying different plays. Finding it more difficult to complete passes and getting destroyed defensively because of it. Maybe I need to give up hope on zone defense completely and do what every other owner does to win, and run only blitzes and man defense and run only plays with high averages on offense.

But what's the fun in running a limited playbook that doesn't reflect how you would prefer to play? What's the fun in 'blending in with the crowd' and giving up how I would actually play the game as if I were a true GM of a team?

I don't think I'll leave this game in the near future anytime soon, but just constantly frustrated by how games are won and lost in ways that make completely no sense and how much games are relied on by pure luck. And apparently, I'm about all out of luck.

I now run 30 play son D and 40 on O and I still get those annoying 'overuse' messages despite having a varied mix of plays.
Without looking into why your plays are not working would suggest maybe that your players are not fitting your schemes???
You're a quality owner and have no doubts that you'll soon be kicking our asses again soon!

There's no set of players in MFN good enough to allow for zone heavy schemes to work as of now. I actually run less zone now than I did before. It's possible they're better than they were in terms of coverage, but versus the run they'll sit back and never budge from their zones even in run key until the RB has hit about 8-10 yards.

I think everyone is over thinking it.m The top defensive teams are loaded with speed. It's quite simple. Krazy s team is not. The schemes matter a bit but not to the level of garnering higher static ratings, especially speed. My fastest teams still get sideline sacks. Just as under the old code .

Speed kills. I throw in some zones just to make sure I don't get the overuse but I draft high speed and high m2m and b&r. LBs and DL all speed. I'm not a total blitzer because you'll get burnt with hot reads for TDs. The blitz 2 and blitz 2+ have a huge liability now. Offense is a **** shoot. Still trying to figure it out.

Speaking of speed, my receivers are useless when it comes to open field catches. I still have no clue why my #1 receiver is total **** [player=3428]WR John Richins[/player] only 500 yards in 9 games.. seen him drop multiple wide open passes and unable to catch anything 1 on 1 while mediocre receivers catch against my defenders in double, triple coverage.

Look at his receiving completion percentage, shouldn't he be one of the most productive players in the league? Oh wait, apparently attributes are completely useless on my teams

One of the things I like and get fustrated with is a player with all the attributes in the world but just doesn't get it done. I've seen a few. No sense in hoping they turn it around. I write them off, as craptastic as that is, sometimes it's for the best. Usually at the QB spot but it happens.
