Being overly critical
by Chaz00Blue @ 3/23/2015 6:33 am
Guys,

I would like to post a quick little reminder. This is a great game and JDavid does this on his own time. I am starting to see a lot of complaining about the game based on a single game or one small aspect of the game. Please think about what you post before posting. Is it a real problem, or did your team just have a bad game. I would get burned out explaining everything over and over. Take a look at the blog, or do a little digging before asking too many questions. This is a great game and a great little community. Let's not ruin it by being over negative. Sometime luck just doesn't go your way.

Thanks Guys!

You're right it is a great game.

Am I bummed that a LG lined up today at WR for some reason and most likely cost us the game? http://cust9.myfootballnow.com/watch/496#109819, yeah a bit upset. It was like a pre-season game, and this isn't the first time this has happened. Up until now I have not mentioned it. This player is only listed as LG1 so there is no excuse.
Also my PR guy was subbed out of the game on occasion , I can't believe it was because he was gassed.

I don't see a huge amount of negative comments, however I do see comments where mistakes that may or may not be the fault of the sim and still need an explanation.

JD does encourage feedback and that will include negative remarks as well as praise, rough with the smooth I reckon.

I am not saying that you shouldn't give feedback, I am just saying that you should try to keep it positive. There may be a perfectly reasonable explanation. You do only have 5 WR's on the roster and there are 5 wide sets. Some of your WR's could have been injured or tired. The game does pick the best available player from the current players on your bench that are not tired, even if they aren't in the depth chart.

I think a vast majority of threads are positive where feedback is concerned.

Reasonable explanation? this will be good....
The play in question was a singleback set which uses 3 WRs, 1 TE and 1 RB. I had 3 active RBs, 1 active FB , 2 active TEs and 4 active WRs (out of 6) so 1 WR all 3 RBs 1 FB and 1 TE might have all been too tired or not as good as a LG playing at TE,
Nah I'm not buying that. Logic went wrong there.

I'd rather have a DB playing WR than a lineman anyway. At least you've actually seen that in real life.

Exactly, I just don't understand WHY a Linemen was used there, at least a CB has some sort of catching abilities. But I still don't understand why none of the other skill positions could have covered.

If you do a player search and look for that LG as a WR, what does his rating come up as?

Interestingly ...

Conditioning 100
Position Exp 2
Strength 65
Intelligence 91
Discipline 6
Max Speed 85
Acceleration 60
Pass Catching 62
B&R Avoidance 25
Route-Running 30
Pass Rec Courage 47
Ball Carrying 54/55
Avoid Fumble 64
Run Blocking 52
Kick Catching 15

But still not as good as the rest of the skill players.

No...... I mean what is his overall rating as a WR? Because if your position sliders are set in a manner that appears he is the next best WR on your team, and you don't have all the people you mentioned as being better than the LG listed on the WR depth chart, then guess what? Your LG is playing WR today........
