I have a zillion rules and every one of them includes a specified to-go yardage range. Are you advocating that I/we utilize short/medium/long and a GP adjustment of 35 for these rules instead of specified to-go yardages?

Nope. I still do this as well.

I use the 35 GP for my base game plan to determine short, medium, long. I still use rules for specific down-distance overrides.

So my X - Long rule should still follow the GP logic, but if I specifically want to call something when the down is X - >20, I will use distance logic.

Game planning is complicated. :)
