I am excited to announce today the official release of the Game Engine version 0.4.3! This feature focuses primarily on the passing game, specifically interactions between receivers and their coverage. You will notice now that attributes for quarterbacks, receivers, and defenders all come into play more significantly than before. Some highlights in this update:
* DBs play tighter coverage and have more impact in the passing game * WRs now will stutter step to lose their coverage * Bump and run coverage has been improved where the DB will now run with the WR and interrupt the pattern * QB will throw the ball more quickly * QBs now play more to their attributes * The fatigue penalty for QBs has been removed * QBs now come in cold off the bench, reducing the effectiveness of 'QB by committee' * Blitzes are now more feast or famine * Bug fixes in the way the offensive line pulls on some running plays * Bug fixes with the defensive play calling matrix
All leagues will roll into the new engine after they execute their next End of Season stage, starting tonight.
So no fix for those occasional time when PR and receivers are running continuously parallel after catching a ball; Not trying to lose someone, just never turning up field eventually either running out-of-bounds or getting tackled after they've lost yards, when initially no defenders where even close?!
My team has totally changed since this went into effect. Roster included. What gives?
This has nothing to do with this update but is instead a bug in the waiver wire logic near the end of the season for teams with very little cap room. I'm not really sure why this suddenly has come up as it has been there all along in 0.4.2, except that teams are now beginning to get tighter caps because of the gradual changes that 0.4.2 added. I am going to get a hotfix patch into 0.4.2 hopefully this weekend to keep it from happening in the remaining leagues (and in 0.4.3).
What about my team? Are you putting the players back on my roster? I was 14-0 and then just lost a game due to this
Unfortunately the only way I can fix it is to roll back the league to before the last sim, which will probably lock the league down until next week. If you can drum up support in the league I am willing to do that.
