No Ties in Roster only leagues

Roster only = https://ros127.myfootballnow.com/

5 of them have occurred in the league already

these 2 happened in regular season

1st one 22 TIE = https://ros127.myfootballnow.com/box/90 Jacksonville and Los Angeles (N)
2nd one 20 TIE = https://ros127.myfootballnow.com/box/111 Jacksonville and Miami

these 3 happened in preseason

1st one = https://ros127.myfootballnow.com/box/13 Dallas and Jacksonville
2nd one = https://ros127.myfootballnow.com/box/17 New England and Washington
3rd one = https://ros127.myfootballnow.com/box/37 Denver and Philadelphia

So really isnt there a way to stop TIES from happening in only Roster leagues because it will affect those teams in the standings and might stop them from going to the playoffs because of that TIE regardless if it is 1 tie , 2 Ties or 3+ Ties.

The NFL already has 2 ties this season, it's partly because of the new OT rules. The AI will play for the win if it can, and really unless you have rules it's not going to do anything different than it will in a normal league.

So in these types of leagues can owners still apply rules or is it a pure roster only type of league

It is pure roster only, you have no influence over what plays are called during the game.

knowing he said that then really TIES should be done away with in ROSTER only leagues

What do you propose instead of tie? keep playing until someone scores? flip a coin?

keep playing until someone scores even if it takes 6+ overtimes to decide winner.

and considering you cant set RULES for ROSTER only leagues then really it makes sense to have games to only be WINS or LOSSES in those type of leagues.

Just what I want, 20 injuries because the game went on forever. With no control over play calling I suspect some games that end up with both offenses being enept.

I don't see what's so wrong with a tie unless there are way to many.

Since the game is modeled after the NFL, I'm not going to change the overtime rules unless they do. Outside of that, what factors would impact whether a game ends in a tie? If a team misses a field goal as OT expires, should the game engine change the outcome so that he made it? Should the game randomly give one team an advantage in OT? The seeding logic works correctly with ties, and as we are seeing in the NFL this year the newer overtime rules are finally resulting in more ties (that was my prediction when the changed them a few years back, I was always fine with the sudden death rules before that). The only real change (that you would be able to do with rules) is to go for the win instead of the tie when the other team made a field goal. My point is that you can do a higher risk game plan with rules that ultimately will eliminate the tie (at the expense of you reducing your chance to win), but I'm not going to have the AI make that decision.

what does setting rules and/or not having a gameplan have to do with a game ending in a tie? I see no logical connection between the two? The roster-only leagues are fine as they are.
