Yep. I take full advantage of this. TE > OL or RB and LB > DB are very common.

Don't neglect the LB > DT or DB > DE combos either. A 260# DE can be remarkably effective, especially as a situational pass rusher.

TE > WR is also highly valuable since WRs are generated with 5'10-6'1" height and TEs are generated with 6'3-6'7" height. Height plays ONE AND ONLY important part of the game - jump *****.
