Fast change punishment?

GP Distance Adjustment Speed
Each play adjusts your offensive short/medium/long ranges. A low value here causes this adjustment to occur slowly, a high value causes it to change quickly. Recommended values are between 5 and 10.

Why slow change recomended, any punishment in the ME formulas otherwice?

I wonder because I can want to change fast :) e g by situation change by injuries of key players.
