The oppoonent FAIL to reach a new First down at his 3rd down during a play where that opponent got a penalty.
The penalty got ACCEPTED so the opponent got a NEW CHANCE which ended up in a TOUCHDOWN. If the penalty would have been DECLINED the opponent would have had to punt or try a long Field goal... So that wasn't a clever choice :) https://mfn48.myfootballnow.com/watch/4953#876726 |

Well, it was Green Bay, that'd been Mike McCarthy accepting the penalty? :)

Interesting....had seen that with OPI calls and figured it was teh game enforcing the penalty as mandatory like it used to be. But with a holding call, definitely should be optional...

If the play results in 4th down but you are within field goal range, the logic will take the penalty if it pushes you out of field goal range. That would have been a long field goal, but it was close enough that the defense assumed it would have been attempted, and wanted to force back another 10 yards. That's a tough call whether to take the penalty or not, and you're probably not going to find a solid consensus among real coaches one way or the other.

To me it seems like just another attempt to keep winning and web-site favorable team owners in good standings.
Just how many credits did that team purchase before the game / season? |
