Avoid fumble/ball carrying

If a guy is good at avoiding a fumble. You end up seeing a guy who has poor ball carrying skills. It is even just the opposite. A person may be good at ball carrying and not good at avoiding a fumble. Now for the big question.Which attribute is more reliable at determining if a person is fumble pron or not?Has anyone noticed which attribute is a better indicator on fumbles.

Ball carrying skills is how well he runs while carrying the ball - if he has low skills he just doesn't run as well with the ball in his hands (for example, he is less likely to achieve his max speed.) Avoid fumble is used whenever a collision happens with another player, his avoid fumble is compared to the defender's cause fumble attribute and, among other factors such as speed, angle, etc, a decision is made as to whether he fumbles the ball.

Avoid fumble comes down too when a player is taking contact versus running with the ball as a ball carrier. This clears it all up.

so a low ball carrier rating means (WR) will run the route well but when catches the ball will slow up and not be as effective.

For someone with high route running and low ball carrying, yes.

We had a question come up in a league thread about the ball carrying skill that I would like clarity on. I understand that a low ball carrying score will affect a player's top end speed when the ball is in his hands. And I've noticed this some on long runs.

What we're curious about is if the relationship between Max Speed and Ball Carry is arithmetic. Does a 10 in ball carry, for instance, reduce a player's Max Speed by 90%? We're almost certain that this is not the case, but we thought we'd ask.
