So im new here still. I got a pop up today stating I have pending free agents. So i go to the "click here" and it takes me to the reneg wizard. But that wizard shows me a list of ppl who have 2-4 years left on their contract.

1. Why are players already showing up there if they have 2+ years left?
2. Why isnt the 1 guy I have in the final year of his contract not on there?

The one guy in the final year of his contract is not showing up because he was only signed to a 1 year deal to begin with. You can't renegotiate a player that started with a 1 year deal.

The guys that have more than 1 year left are showing up because you can renegotiate any contract after the first year is over. You can sometimes save money by doing so.

ahh ok. So how do you know what a player will take and wont take in terms of salary? Like obviously low balling wont work but im not trying to screw myself out of saving millions if i can.

I would download a copy of jsid's renegotiation spreadsheet and operate it from my desktop, as some folks have problems using it online.
