No timeout called for FG at end of half

My team completed a pass to the opponent 34 yardline (field goal range because my setting is 54y for normal FGs and 57y for FGs before end of half) and the play ended with 2 seconds remaining on the game clock. And my team has two timeouts left. But my head coach didn't call one.

My team lost this playoff game (divisional round up) in the end with 17-20.^^

I've noticed the game almost always seems to run 2 seconds off the clock between play end and time outs -- I've always assumed it is to represent the lag time it takes to realize a play is over and signal the TO and have the clock operator notice it. In this case that 2 seconds would have been just enough to send it to 0:00 on you.
